    Position Objective

    The Shift Supervisor/Cook will support the Food Service Director in accomplishing the department goals in compliance with Carolina Creek’s mission, vision, and values. As part of the Operations team, the Shift Supervisor/Cook will collaborate in providing Christian hospitality for our guests and leading their teammates to do the same, by example. They are responsible for modeling a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship in a manner consistent with Carolina Creek’s mission, vision, and values.

    • Part-Time Hourly

     

    Key Job Accountabilities

    • Cooking and preparing the food

    • Accountability of dining specialists & seasonal staff

    • Check time cards as assigned

    • Oversee all food preparation

    • Responsible for planning for and overseeing meals/snacks for guests with special dietary needs

    • Oversee serving line preparation and front of the house

    • Ensure that the cleanliness of the kitchen/service areas are maintained according to established standards

    • Receiving shipments, when trucks arrive during the shift,  properly checking the paperwork,  and storing all incoming food and chemicals

    • Maintaining a safe work environment per established standards

    • Enforcing dress code, safety measures, and other established guidelines

    • Actively engage and participate in the staff community through a godly attitude, words, and actions

    Qualifications


    General Qualifications

    The Shift Supervisor/Cook must be a mature follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in their faith. They must be fully in accord with Carolina Creek’s mission statement, and statement of beliefs; committed to living these out personally, and instilling them in the organization. They must be of strong moral character and integrity.

     

    Education/Certifications/Licenses

    • Food Handlers Certification

    • Must have a current valid driver’s license.

    • Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

     

    Work Experience

    • Food Service experience required

    • Supervisor experience preferred 

    • Experience in Camping Ministry preferred 

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Must possess leadership abilities 

    • Must possess strong interpersonal relations skills 

    • Must possess training abilities and good communication skills 

    • Must possess the ability to work long hours 

    • A heart to serve wherever and whenever needed 

    • Must be teachable and ask questions where knowledge is lacking 

    • Must be a team player and willing to work with different types of people 

    • Must be flexible with an ability to adjust and problem-solve in challenging situations

    • Ability to maintain excellence in customer service under any circumstance 

    • Must be able to read and understand English

    • Must be able to use a digital application to document hours, and to send/receive texts and emails related to scheduling, changes, or other instructions.

     

    Physical Demands:

    The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in hot and humid conditions. Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, and ability to lift/carry anywhere from 15 to over 60 lbs. Must be able to see at close distances for food prep and paperwork as well as across the kitchen and dining room for supervisory duties and safety. Must be able to hear and give instructions and commands at the distance across the kitchen or dining room. Must be able to understand and communicate in English.

     

    Additional Requirements

    • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.

    • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, as well as the ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

    • Assurance of reliable transportation at whatever work hours are required.
