GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for providing instruction in how to prepare daily meals for independent living to students with intellectual disabilities.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Teach students how to identify nutritious foods and meals.
• Teach students how to prepare meals on a budget.
• Teach students how to explore current trends in cooking.
• Teach students how to prepare healthy nutritious "every day" meals.
• Teach students how to apply safe food handling practices.
• Teach students how to maintain a sanitary kitchen.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Strong background in cooking everyday meals.
• One year of experience working with or teaching individuals with special needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team player with students and Project Forward staff.
• Excellent organizational and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform physical/hands on work.
• Valid Driver's License.

COMPENSATION: $34.45/hour; up to 12 hours a week during Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters. Part-time, Non-benefited MCCC Unit position.
