Cooking Assistant prepares raw ingredients for use in recipes. Washes, chops, stores, and handles ingredients. Being a Cooking Assistant prepares portions of ingredients for workstations. May prepare sauces and garnishes or assist cook with basic recipes. Additionally, Cooking Assistant follows all applicable guidelines and regulations for food handling and safety. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Cooking Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.
