Position Overview
This position will join the Danessa Myricks Beauty design team as a Designer - Digital. The candidate will report directly to the Creative Director to create graphic designs for a variety of channels with a focus on digital and physical event assets – email, site design banners, in store events/ pop ups etc. The candidate will also partner with the Creative Director and Marketing teams to brainstorm solutions and discuss edits. The ideal candidate will be a design obsessed beauty lover, self-sufficient in time management, a problem solver, solution-oriented and resourceful – with a keen eye on detail to ensure that brand aesthetics are maintained.
Primary Responsibilities
● Support the Creative team with graphic design-related needs focusing on digital elements such as email, site, website banners, digital media assets, Product pages & new Launch materials.
● Support brand events by designing physical assets to bring the brand to life in stores.
● Ensure brand aesthetics and design standards are upheld and approved assets are being used.
● Actively participate in team brainstorms and provide ideas.
● Collaborate with the MKT/ cross-functional team to understand design needs.
● Partner with the Creative Director to review ideas and solve design challenges together.
● Partner with the VM Design team to collaborate and review ideas for in-store designs.
● Responsible for all revisions, including changes to copy and art direction.
● Participate in weekly cross-functional department status meetings.
● Create PDFs of all artwork for interdepartmental review.
● Catalog and organize artwork files (working and final) on the server for future reference.
● Ability to collect and hand off organized design files to the Production team.
● Work cross functionally and meet deadlines.
● Basic understanding of production requirements (dielines, type safety, lives and trim).
Qualifications
- BA/BS/BFA degree in Communication Arts or other Graphic Design related field.
- Software Requirements Mac platform. Adobe Creative Suite expert - InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator. Microsoft Office proficient - Teams, Word, OneNote, PowerPoint, Excel. Animation and KeyNote experience are a plus
- 2-4 years of graphic design experience in luxury, fashion or beauty required. Experience in retail or beauty is preferred.
- Stellar typography skills and aesthetic.
- Desire to think strategically, brainstorm and problem-solve from many angles.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to carefully follow direction. Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and team player attitude.
- Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to take direction and work closely with team members. Basic knowledge of pre-press and print production. Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
Judgment And Decision Making
The ideal candidate would be able to operate successfully with intermittent supervision, yet able to flexibly collaborate closely as needed with cross-functional partners & senior management at DMB. Sound judgment, discretion & decision-making skills are of utmost importance
