ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

Laudisi Enterprises — the parent company of Smokingpipes.com, Laudisi Distribution Group, Cornell & Diehl, Peterson of Dublin, and Low Country Pipe & Cigar — is searching for talented writers to join our fast-paced Merchandising team. Our Copywriters work with clear direction and a ton of resources to produce detailed product descriptions for Smokingpipes.com and other web properties for Laudisi Enterprises, and contribute other pieces of written content such as blog posts for our Daily Reader web blog.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Write compelling and well-researched product descriptions about pipes, pipe tobacco, cigars and retail accessories

• Make regular written contributions to our blog, the Smokingpipes Daily Reader on topics including pipes, pipe tobacco, cigars, and any other aspects related to pipe and cigar smoking history, culture, and industry personalities

• Write descriptive and compelling marketing newsletter copy

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Exhibit exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal

• Demonstrate an ability to write and edit standard American English with a high level of proficiency regarding grammar, spelling, and phrasing

• Possess a willingness to research and learn a lot about an industry you may know very little about initially

• Most of all, you must have a love for and proven background in writing!

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work autonomously and with responsible time management to meet weekly and monthly deadlines

• Possess a personable, professional, self-motivated, and detail-oriented approach to your work

• Demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills

• Display strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within a dynamic team environment

• Thrives on working in a highly collaborative, deadline driven environment

• Proficient in a Windows - and Google - based environment and sufficiently internet savvy

• Have a valid driver’s license

• Pass a criminal background check

BONUS SKILLS:

• While prior pipe and cigar knowledge is not required and is developed through on-site training, it is a major plus!

• Previous experience creating sales and call-to-action oriented copy
