    The Digital Learning Support Manager supervises a group of dedicated student staff in facilitating the seamless function of our digital learning support services and systems, playing a crucial role in enhancing the learning experience through effective technology and multimedia resource management.

    Duties:
    • Lead the smooth operation of the Center, ensuring service requests and inquiries are promptly addressed and completed.
    • Provide expert support for Learning Management System (LMS) to faculty and students, ensuring seamless navigation and utilization.
    • Manage and supervise student workers, organizing Center services within a busy office environment.
    • Collaborate with system administrators and engineers to resolve Helpdesk requests and communicate effectively with the instructional support team.
    • Assist with conducting training sessions and workshops on LMS usage and other support technologies, empowering faculty, and students.
    • Assist with creating multimedia elements to promote Center services and demonstrate the value we bring to the educational community.
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of content for the Center’s website, ensuring it remains informative and up-to-date.
    • Hire and train student workers in various applications, fostering their development and growth.
    • Develop and maintain user manuals for Center office procedures, ensuring clarify and consistency in operations.
    • Establish and maintain an organized file storage system on Center computers, troubleshoot equipment and software malfunctions, and request work orders when necessary.
    • Participate in regularly scheduled Center staff meetings, contributing insights and ideas to drive continuous improvement.
    • Complete tasks timely with work that is comprehensive, complete, and accurate
    • Communicates clearly, listens attentively, and seeks to understand others
    • Collaborates productively with colleagues of varying skillset
    • Other job duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Required:


    • 2-3 years of experience in a higher education environment service unit.
    • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas, Moodle, or Blackboard.
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and creativity.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and independently, with exceptional customer service orientation.
    • Competency with multiple computer operation systems (Mac and Windows).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Google Apps.
    • Tech-savvy with problem-solving skills.
    • Leadership qualities for supervising student workers.
    • Sound, independent judgement with an innovative and flexible approach.
    • Exceptional customer service orientation and a positive, energetic outlook.

    Preferred:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Education Technology, Media, Communication, English, Education, or related field.
    • Familiarity with effective instructional uses of an LMS.
    • Basic proficiency in media and web technologies/HTML.
    • Experience with digital design and software applications (Adobe Creative Suite, Storyline, Canva, or similar).
    • Experience providing instructional support services related to distance education.


    Environmental Conditions:
    • Indoors in a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes at least eighty percent (80%) of the time.
    • Frequent computer use at a workstation, up to eight hours per day.
    • Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
    • Drive personal or University vehicles to appointments.
    • Public contact position requiring professional apparel, personal hygiene, and grooming.

    Physical Demands:
    • This position typically functions indoors in an office environment with light to moderate noise associated with business office equipment. The position may involve travel for meetings and events.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: remain in a stationary position 80 % of the time, be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets/office machinery etc., operate a computer and keyboard and other office productivity machinery such as calculators/copy machines/printers. The employee is occasionally required to position self to reach items on the floor and in high cabinetry.
    • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Employee must be able to communicate with others to exchange information including both over the telephone and in-person communication with callers and community members and be able to read a computer screen and paper documents.
