Corporate Compliance Director manages the compliance programs, policies, reporting, and practices for an organization or business. Ensures that all activities follow regulatory requirements related to the governance of the organization as well as any industry-specific or location-specific laws. Being a Corporate Compliance Director oversees internal controls and auditing systems that monitor and report on regulated activities and processes. Implements risk-based compliance testing of existing procedures and controls to identify, detect, and correct noncompliance. Additionally, Corporate Compliance Director evaluates and implements changes to compliance processes due to new or amended regulations. Delivers communication and training initiatives that inform stakeholders about compliance requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Corporate Compliance Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Corporate Compliance Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Overview:

    We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional for the role of Director of HR Relations and Compliance. This position reports directly to the Chief Human Resource and Talent Officer and involves oversight of crucial HR functions including Employee Relations, Labor Relations, EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity), Title IX, and overall HR Compliance. This person will also assist in handling inquiries and escalated issues within the human resources department.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Employee Relations:
    • Develop and implement employee relations strategies that foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
    • Handle complex employee relations matters, investigations, and conflict resolution.
    • Provide guidance and support to management and employees on HR policies and procedures.
    1. Labor Relations:
    • Oversee labor relations activities, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.
    • Collaborate with leadership to negotiate and administer collective bargaining agreements.
    • Address and resolve labor disputes, grievances, and related issues.
    1. EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) and Title IX:
    • Ensure compliance with EEO laws and regulations, promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace.
    • Oversee Title IX compliance efforts, including training, reporting, and investigations.
    • Collaborate with the Title IX and EEO Officer to address concerns and promote a discrimination-free workplace.
    1. HR Compliance:
    • Develop, implement, and monitor HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Conduct regular audits to assess and address compliance risks.
    • Stay abreast of changes in employment laws and regulations, implementing necessary updates.
    • Other duties as required

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Supervise the Title IX and EEO Officer and the Employee/Labor Relations Partner.
    • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the team.
    • Collaborate with HR Relations and Compliance team to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field; master's degree preferred.
    • Extensive experience in HR leadership roles, with at least 3 years of experience with Employee Relations, Labor Relations, EEO, Title IX, or HR Compliance.
    • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
    • Proven experience in handling sensitive HR matters, investigations, and conflict resolution.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • State or college work experience background preferred
    • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR desired.

    • Complete discretion is required because this position involves access to sensitive human resource information
    • Ability to effectively communicate to team members and customers in a succinct and timely manner on a regular basis

    Physical:

    • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
    • Position may require traveling to multiple campus locations for meetings.
    • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
