  • TITLE: COMPLIANCE AUDITOR II  DEPARTMENT: CORPORATE COMPLIANCESTATUS: EXEMPTJOB CODE: 4375 PAY SCALE: $71,600.00 - $87,000.00 ANNUALLY     GENERAL DESCRIPTION   The Compliance Auditor II is responsible for performing compliance reviews on internal processes and procedures to support ongoing regulatory compliance with consumer financial regulations.    TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS   Leads the execution of 2nd line Compliance Reviews over consumer protection areas of compliance.   Leads the creation and/or updating of the Compliance Review Plan including planning, objective and scope, testing approach and draft reporting.    Performing these reviews to support ongoing business line compliance with applicable regulations and provide feedback to business owners in support of ongoing compliance efforts.   Lead coordination of planning in support of compliance review scope including business unit interviews.   Perform detailed compliance review tasks, document the results and report to management regarding the adequacy of ongoing compliance efforts.   Monitors to ensure assigned Compliance Reviews are completed within time and budget goals.   Lead the development and oversight of the first line monitoring programs, proactively identify improvement opportunities to support ongoing compliance, monitor testing results, and report results to management as appropriate.   Prepare and maintain thorough work papers in accordance with department standards.   Prepare initial draft reports summarizing compliance review findings in a clear and concise manner following department standards.   Lead the development of the compliance review scope with consideration of risk and sample size selection commensurate with the testing being performed.   Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance.    Communicate and draft reportable issues and other reports to management.   Escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance Manager for possible corrective action.   Perform all other related duties as assigned.   PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASKS   Effective oral and written communication skills required to proof-read, review, summarize, and report on complex government rules, regulations, and guidance. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, facsimile machine and telephone.   ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS   INTERNAL:  All levels of staff.   EXTERNAL:  Vendors, management and the staff of other financial institutions.   QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Minimum 4-year college degree preferred, or commensurate applicable work experience. Certified Internal Auditor (preferred).   EXPERIENCE: Minimum four years’ experience in regulatory compliance, risk, or internal audit for a financial institution including an emphasis regulatory compliance, project management, customer service, branch operations. Minimum 3 year of experience that encompassed monitoring or validation of processes and procedures.   KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Knowledge of compliance concepts and practices pertaining to state and federal financial and consumer protection regulations. Background in regulatory compliance is required. Ability to communicate (oral and written) and work well with others in a dynamic team environment. Ability to work with complex risk management databases. Good foundation in member service and operational processes. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within the department, with business unit owners, and others outside of the credit union. Strong problem-solving, credit union operations, and organizational skills with the ability to present information logically.  Ability to multi-task effectively and meet deadlines with supervision. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS   Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.   Corrected vision within the normal range.   Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.   Ability to lift 15 lbs. as may be required.   Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc.   LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Compliance Certification (or obtained within one year of hire) required; and/or Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE), NAFCU’s Certified Compliance Officer (NCCO), Certified Bank Compliance Officer (CBCO), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM).
