    THE OPPORTUNITY :

    The Advancement Officer – Strategic Corporate Partners is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies to successfully run the Annual Campaigns for a select portfolio of companies as well as the solicitation and maintenance of individual major gifts within the portfolio. Additionally, this dynamic, high-energy self-starter will identify, cultivate and grow new partner prospects. This position is also responsible for working collaboratively with other departments to ensure the success of organizational strategies and initiatives.

    The ideal candidate will be adept at networking and eager to be engaged and involved out in the community, as well as an active participant in volunteer engagement and recruitment. This position must also be comfortable representing Trident United Way throughout the community at community functions.

    We are seeking a candidate to be part of a fast-moving team of motivated advancement officers, and who understands the importance and value of the work of Trident United Way and its many partners.

    GENERAL JOB INFORMATION:

    JOB COMPETENCIES:
    • Proven track record of soliciting and securing gifts,
    • Able to manage a corporate portfolio,
    • Excellent oral and written communication skill (public speaking; proposals, letters, proof reading, etc.)
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse audiences (negotiating, assertiveness, motivation, inspiration, persuasion, leadership, etc.)
    • Excellent planning and time management skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects.
    • High-energy team player
    • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Process and Project Management skills
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software
    • Ability to read, understand and analyze financial documents (i.e., donor/gift reports/AR/AP)
    • Critical thinking
    • High level of personal ethics
    QUALIFICATIONS;:
    • Bachelor’s Degree, Associate’s Degree or relevant experience
    • MarketSmart Experience, optional

    EXPERIENCE:
    • 5 years of previous fund raising experience, or 7-10 years of related experience (business or sales)

    PHYSICAL DEMAMNDS OF THE JOB:

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    This is a hybrid position. Primarily works in a climate controlled office-based setting. The opportunity to work remotely 2 days a week is available.
