Accountabilities:
As a Senior Director, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of a coordinated external communications strategy to strengthen AstraZeneca’s reputation as a scientific leader in science and technology platforms. You will work closely with leaders and scientists across R&D and beyond, developing multifaceted campaigns across digital, social and traditional media to bring the science of drug discovery and development to life.
Essential Skills/Experience:
Established track record of delivering impactful, content rich communications programmes across multiple channels and partners with proven measures of success
Experience of crafting scientific / technical content, ideally in biopharmaceutical context
Strong channel management, digital skills and knowledge of technology options.
Experience of working with the media
Experience of working with regional and market communicators to support excellent local delivery
Outstanding native English-level written and verbal communications skills
Confidence around most senior leaders and comfortable delivering alternative viewpoint
Curiosity about science and passion for what science can do
Entrepreneurial approach and desire to challenge the status quo
Team worker with high level of personal accountability
Experience of working with executive level leaders
Able to develop and maintain networks across business and cultural boundaries
Ability to undertake global travel will be required, primarily between other AstraZeneca Strategic Science Centres
