Corporate Giving Director identifies and assesses the causes and organizations that align with the company's values and goals and implements strategic plans to support them. Establishes and maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations and community leaders to ensure effective collaboration and support of giving initiatives. Being a Corporate Giving Director manages the budget for charitable giving, evaluates grant proposals, and monitors the impact of the company's charitable contributions. Develops employee volunteer programs to engage employees, offer participation to wider audience, and raise awareness about the organization's charitable initiatives.     Berry College is seeking a director of its mid-level annual giving program. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Alumni Engagement and Development, the Director is responsible for managing and growing the College's mid-level giving program, which is responsible for $2 million in annual revenue from gifts ranging from $1,000 to $25,000.

    The Director works collaboratively with gift officers and development colleagues, to develop an integrated mid-level giving plan which incorporates strategies to identify, cultivate, and move donors into and through the donor continuum of mid-level giving into the major gift program ($25,000 ).

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION (MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

    • Effectively manage a portfolio of mid-level donor prospects using personal contact via phone, email, and a predetermined number of virtual and in-person meetings, to meet outreach and dollar goals, building and strengthening relationships resulting in progressively increased engagement and giving levels.
    • Identify key opportunities for prospect cultivation and engagement, determining key relationships to build and matching interest with need and ability. Develop relationships that ultimately lead to new and increased levels of giving.
    • Work collaboratively with donor research to identify and prioritize donors for contact and engagement through the mid-level giving program with the ultimate goal of moving into major gift levels.
    • Direct reunion giving program for key reunion years, including volunteer recruitment, support, and relationship management to achieve established dollar goals.
    • Oversee, through collaborative efforts, an annual direct mail strategy ensuring timely and effective fundraising appeals to steadily increase both income for the college and alumni engagement.
    • Lead periodic targeted campaigns achieving dollar goals in a timely manner.
    • Assist with alumni engagement events.
    • Monitor goal progress with the ability to assess the effectiveness of efforts and flexibility to alter strategies.

    ADDITIONAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION

    • Work within the established budget to maximize efficiencies.
    • Occasional overnight travel required.


    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in non-profit fundraising
    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in development and/or alumni relations, including strong skills in the development and implementation of individual relationship-building strategy and management
    • Experience in fundraising and direct prospect solicitation and follow-up, preferably in an educational environment, with a commitment to stewardship.
