In partnership with the Army West Point Athletic Association, Inc. (AWPAA), The West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is seeking a Director, Sport Specific Giving. The Director, Sport Specific Giving will support and report to the Assistant Athletics Director, Major Gifts and will be responsible for seeking gifts for annual with AWPAD and WPAOG?s Annual Giving team to maximize leverage and coordination of the Academy?s donor community. The Director, Sport Specific Giving will develop, implement, and execute a comprehensive sport specific fundraising strategy with the Assistant Athletic Director, Major Gifts and Sport Administrators. In addition, he or she will work with Coaches to establish annual Margin of Excellence needs for each of the 30 varsity programs. Further, the Director will manage and make regular contact with approximately 100-150 Army West Point Athletics? donors and prospects, cultivating these individuals to develop and target likely giving opportunities that will match their interests and giving potential.
A Bachelor?s Degree is required. Must have 3 years of experience working in intercollegiate athletics, or related environment, specifically within development/fundraising, sales, or customer service. Additionally, the candidate must have excellent organization, relationship building, and interpersonal skills. Excellent oral and written communications skills is also required. Must be available for travel (10-25% of working time). We offer excellent benefits and a pleasant working environment. The salary range will be approximately $63,000 to $65,000 depending on skills and experience. The incumbent must live within commuting distance of West Point.
