Purpose

Directs and controls service operations to ensure customer satisfaction and maximize return on investment by optimizing service department processes companywide. Grows service sales and manages staffing and budgets. Attracts, retains, and effectively engages department personnel.

Job Duties

• Drives customer experience and profitability for the company
• Develops, maintains and manages the execution of the service department strategic business plan for the organization
• Creates and monitors annual service department goals and budget for the organization, in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives
• Develops, communicates, enforces, and monitors effective service department processes to ensure customer satisfaction as well as service department performance
• Monitors service department performance relative to labor sales and expense control across the organization in line with the organization’s objectives
• Develops, implements and reviews the service department employee compensation plans
• Creates and facilitates the execution of the service department marketing plan
• Reviews the organization’s customer satisfaction program
• Coordinates recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for the Service Department
• Maintains knowledge of John Deere and competitive products

Job Requirements

• 5 years of experience managing a highly profitable multi-location service department of 10 or more locations; demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferred
• Experience in multi-location automotive service management preferred
• Experience with basic computer functions
• Experience leading a team and working cooperatively in a team environment for a large group department preferred
• Experience communicating effectively
• Experience analyzing and interpreting internal financial reports
• Valid driver’s license required
