Corporate Giving Manager identifies and assesses the causes and organizations that align with the company's values and goals and develops strategic plans to support them. Establishes and maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations and community leaders to ensure effective collaboration and support of giving initiatives. Being a Corporate Giving Manager manages the budget for charitable giving, evaluates grant proposals, and monitors the impact of the company's charitable contributions. Develops and launches employee volunteer programs to engage employees, offer participation to wider audience, and raise awareness about the organization's charitable initiatives. Additionally, Corporate Giving Manager maintains current knowledge of best practices in corporate giving and philanthropy. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Corporate Giving Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Corporate Giving Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Summary

    The Corporate and Foundations Giving Officer reports to the Senior Manager, Foundations and Government Support, and also works under the direction of the Director of Corporate Engagement and Special Events. The Officer’s time is split equally between Foundations and Government Support and Corporate Engagement and is accountable to both functional areas. The Corporate and Foundations Giving Officer is responsible for:

    • Helping design and execute all fundraising activities connected with institutional grants, including supporting the generation of annual revenue of $1.7M . 
    • Helping generate annual revenue of $400,000 in current and new corporate membership and sponsorship.
    • Development and management of proposals and reports; prospect outreach; grant writing; and, stewardship of existing institutional and corporate partners.
    • Management of the corporate membership program, including identification of and outreach to new prospects, benefits tracking and fulfillment, and renewals.

    Essential Functions and Primary Responsibilities

    • Manage a portfolio of 50 foundations and 50 corporations through all stages of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
    • Write and design grant and sponsorship proposals and reports.
    • Write and produce acknowledgement letters.
    • Participate in developing new corporate relationships and create corporate partnership marketing materials and proposals.
    • Complete two-way outreaches (ten or more per month) by phone or email with foundation and corporate donors and prospects; file contact reports in Tessitura.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Corporate Engagement and Special Events and other Museum staff to assess hospitality and recognition benefits and sponsorship opportunities for corporations; ensure that sponsor agreements are consistent with Museum policies and practices.
    • Manage stewardship of current corporate members and sponsors, and ensure that all corporate partners receive appropriate recognition and services.
    • Research and qualify prospects, identifying new opportunities for alignment between Museum programs, strategic priorities, and funder interests; help launch relationships with new funders.
    • Manage a donor portfolio and tracking system for corporate and foundation funders, proposal and reporting deadlines, recordkeeping, scheduling, project management for proposal development and donor recognition, digital proposal filing system, and donor files. 
    • Working closely with the Finance department, help manage the administration of open government and foundation grants.
    • Support and lead corporate membership events and visits with institutional partners; staff Development events and help host corporate partner attendees.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    Required

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
    • 5 years of development or other relevant experience.
    • Direct experience writing successful philanthropic grants and corporate proposals.
    • Experience planning and implementing strategies for securing grants from corporate and foundation funders.
    • Proven ability to draft, edit, and produce final product.
    • Strong interpersonal skills required to relate to donor prospects, foundation management, and colleagues.
    • Highly organized, self-motivated, adaptable, and able to prioritize.
    • Ability to innovate, problem solve, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • A high regard for confidentiality and sensitivity in dealing with donors and foundation staff.
    • Proficiency in fundraising software, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
    • Commitment to advancing the ISGM’s diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion (DEAI) initiatives.
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
