Corporate Giving Manager identifies and assesses the causes and organizations that align with the company's values and goals and develops strategic plans to support them. Establishes and maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations and community leaders to ensure effective collaboration and support of giving initiatives. Being a Corporate Giving Manager manages the budget for charitable giving, evaluates grant proposals, and monitors the impact of the company's charitable contributions. Develops and launches employee volunteer programs to engage employees, offer participation to wider audience, and raise awareness about the organization's charitable initiatives. Additionally, Corporate Giving Manager maintains current knowledge of best practices in corporate giving and philanthropy. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Corporate Giving Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Corporate Giving Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     POSITION PURPOSE

    Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate & Foundation Giving, the Corporate Giving & Sponsorship Director plays a critical role in the growth and diversification of corporate partnerships. The Director contributes to building a robust corporate pipeline by identifying and engaging new corporate giving prospects, solicits six-figure corporate contributions and sponsorships, and manages development of sponsorship opportunities. As a senior member of the Corporate Giving team, the Director engages with corporate leaders and business owners and provides the highest level of customer service to make Riley Children’s Foundation a corporate charity and partner of choice among the Indiana business community. 

     

    Foundation and individual staff goals are set annually and are expected to grow toward the Foundation’s strategic plan and annual business plan.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

     1.  Fundraising 

    • Fundraising: Build and manage a portfolio of corporate donors with an emphasis on cultivating, soliciting and securing contributions of $100,000 or more. Bring a growth mindset to the role to renew and upgrade existing donors. Achieve a quantifiable fundraising goal set annually.
    • Prospecting: Research and identify corporate prospects across multiple business sectors that align with the funding priorities and programs of Riley Children’s Foundation and Riley Children’s Health to ensure a healthy pipeline of potential donors.
    • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with corporate partners and record pertinent information and moves management updates in the foundation’s CRM.
    • Collaborate with Foundation, hospital, and pediatric research staff to develop and submit highly compelling proposals and supporting materials that align with RCF funding priorities and achieve each prospect’s philanthropic and engagement goals. 
    • Referrals: Based on prospecting results, refer donors below $100,000 to the appropriate gift officer.
    • Volunteer Management: Collaborate with select members of the Riley Children’s Foundation Board of Governors, Campaign Cabinet and other volunteers to achieve referrals and engage in cultivation activities. Assist the VP of Corporate & Foundation Giving in forming and managing a corporate advisory group charged with identifying and connecting to new prospective donors.
       

    2.  Sponsorships

    • Functional Direction:  Direct and own the sponsorship function for the Foundation.
    • In partnership with Foundation, hospital and pediatric research staff, identify sponsorship opportunities within Riley Children’s Foundation and Riley Children’s Health. Build out sponsorship packages for each opportunity on an ongoing basis, bringing to bear knowledge and experience about corporate goals and best practices from children’s hospitals and other fundraising sectors. 
    • Partner with Foundation marketing staff to develop high-impact sponsorship decks, packets and other assets that clearly articulate the benefit of partnering with Riley Children’s Foundation and the beloved Riley brand. 
    • Working alongside the Communications and Donor Engagement teams, ensure all sponsorship benefits are met within the required timeframe per each sponsor agreement. Ensure equitable benefits are offered based on sponsor level.

     

    3.  Administrative

    • Meetings:  Prepare for and actively participate in all Riley Children’s Foundation meetings as appropriate.  Ensure expectations and tools for meeting agendas and follow-up are implemented.
    • Technology:  Understand and effectively use the technology available at the Riley Children’s Foundation.  
    • Compliance:        Ensure strict compliance with all Foundation policies, as well as local, state, and federal laws that govern business practices.

     

    4.  Riley Children’s Foundation Representative

    • Volunteers:  As appropriate, work with assigned community and service organizations that partner with Riley Children’s Foundation to involve them in the mission.
    • Presentations:  Represent Riley Children’s Foundation through delivering public speeches about the organization and its mission to the external public.  
    • Tours:  Give tours of the hospital, as appropriate.

     

    5.  Other Duties as Assigned

    • Riley Children’s Foundation events:  Participate in Riley Children’s Foundation events as requested.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience. 

    • Education:  Bachelor’s degree required.   Advanced degree and/or field-specific certifications preferred.  
    • Experience:  Minimum 7-10 years of sales, marketing or fundraising experience or equivalent client-focused environment.   Experience creating and managing corporate sponsorships.   Experience in obtaining individual corporate donations and/or sales of 100K . High level of knowledge of an overall donor or customer experience model.  
    • Skills:   Solid relationship building.  Understanding of individual and corporate donor needs and perceptions.  Strong ability to speak in public.  Excellent written communication.  Sensitivity to needs of donors.  Problem-solving, research and analytical skills.   Attention to detail and organization.   Proficiency in Microsoft Office products with a key focus on Word, Excel and Outlook; experience with SharePoint is a plus.  Proficiency in use of databases.

    • Normal business travel excludes daily commute.  Position requires out-of-office travel occasionally.    Occasional overnight travel.
