Corporate Giving Manager identifies and assesses the causes and organizations that align with the company's values and goals and develops strategic plans to support them. Establishes and maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations and community leaders to ensure effective collaboration and support of giving initiatives. Being a Corporate Giving Manager manages the budget for charitable giving, evaluates grant proposals, and monitors the impact of the company's charitable contributions. Develops and launches employee volunteer programs to engage employees, offer participation to wider audience, and raise awareness about the organization's charitable initiatives. Additionally, Corporate Giving Manager maintains current knowledge of best practices in corporate giving and philanthropy. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Corporate Giving Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Corporate Giving Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position:   Development Manager, Individual Giving  

    Location:   Headquarters   

    Salary:    $70,000 - $95,000 

    Hours/Schedule: 8:30 AM-5:30 PM, exempt 

    Manager:   Chief Philanthropy Officer 


    General Purpose: 

    Under the supervision of the Chief Philanthropy Officer, the Individual Giving Manager advances BGCSM’s mission by raising funds through individual giving. The Manager helps to plan and execute the cultivation, stewardship and personal solicitation of individual donors and prospects, including major and planned gifts. 


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

    • Strategic Planning: 
    • In partnership with the CPO, develop and implement a comprehensive individual giving strategy aligned with the organization's fundraising goals. 
    • Execute annual and multi-year plans to cultivate, solicit and steward individual donors with specific, measurable goals. 
    • Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: 
    • Identify, cultivate, and solicit annual and individual gifts from donors. 
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential donors. through personalized communication, events and other engagement opportunities. 
    • Build advisory committees and active community volunteers as a donor acquisition strategy. 
    • Ensure timely and meaningful cultivation and stewardship of donors. 
    • Prospect Research: 
    • Conduct research to identify potential donors and develop strategies for their involvement and support. 
    • Analyze donor data to tailor solicitations and engagement efforts. 
    • Collaboration: 
    • Work closely with other fundraising team members, program staff, and leadership to coordinate efforts and ensure a unified approach to fundraising. 
    • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to create compelling materials for donor outreach. 
    • Data Management: 
    • Ensure the accuracy of donor records in the organization's database. 
    • Track and report on progress toward fundraising goals. 
    • Events and Campaigns: 
    • Establish and cultivate Giving Societies for select donors in different giving segments.  
    • Plan and execute donor cultivation and appreciation events. 
    • In collaboration with the Development team, design and execute the Annual and Back to School campaigns. 
    • Support the Director of Development with event logistics, generating new gifts and securing in-kind donations. 


    Requirements

     Qualifications: 

    • Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role. 
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferred. 
    • Demonstrated success in securing major gifts. 
    • Strong understanding of fundraising principles and best practices. 
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships with donors and key stakeholders. 
    • Planning and project management skills. 
    • Strong organizational abilities. 
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. 
    • Experience with donor databases and fundraising software (Donor Perfect or Salesforce a plus)
