Corporate Insurance Manager manages an organization's overall insurance programs. Analyzes insurance needs by identifying risk exposures and analyzing and classifying risks to provide optimum coverage, costs and claim settlements. Being an Corporate Insurance Manager conducts regular policy reviews, research and compile loss trends, review actuarial estimations. Administers systems to collect data and generate meaningful models and reporting to support decisions. Additionally, Corporate Insurance Manager coordinates policy renewals and applications. May administer self- insured plans. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Corporate Insurance Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.     THE OPPORTUNITY

Our Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) team is leading on wide-ranging initiatives to make Primient an industry leader in all aspects of EHS - from switching away from coal power to providing a psychologically safe working environment.

    The PSM Manager will drive and support process safety management initiatives at the Decatur facility, in line with the global EHSS Management System and the COMAH/OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP). Together with the operations, engineering and maintenance teams the PSM Manager will improve overall PSM performance of the facility. This individual will work on projects of varying scope that will encompass multiple aspects of PSM (Hazard identification, Hazops, Bow Tie Analysis, Scenario Based Auditing, Incident Investigation) for a facility with ~600 employees and contractors.

    Key responsibilities: Corporate Process Safety Manager
    • Coordinate compliance efforts in line with COMAH/OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM)and EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP) rules
    • Embed a PSM Management System at the facilities and develop local knowledge
    • Provide regulatory interpretation and technical support on process safety matters and site projects
    • Coordinate collection and maintenance of Process Safety Information (PSI) with plant personnel
    • Introduce Process Safety Performance indicators into the facilities
    • Determine appropriate process hazard analysis methodology based on scope of work and proposed Management of Change (MOC)
    • Coordinate PHA revalidation scheduling and employee participation with plant personnel
    • Oversight of Process Safety Critical Asset Integrity program at the facility.
    • Development of Major Accident Response Plans
    • Implement a sustainable uniform format for developing and updating Operating Procedures
    • Establish a culture of program ownership through employee participation by collaborating with employees on their roles and responsibilities within process safety management
    • Coordinate process safety training needs
    • Coordinate review of contractor PSM qualifications
    • Provide oversight to MOC by maintaining and auditing MOC and Pre-Start Up Safety Review (PSSR) records and procedures
    • Coordinate review and follow-up of Mechanical Integrity inspection reports
    • Champion facility siting process to embed requirements into an effective management system
    • Coordinate a sustainable approach to PSM self-audits and inspections
    • Coordinate site's record keeping process for tracking and closing PHA and audit action items
    • Participate in process safety incident investigations
    • Analyze process safety incidents and trends and develop strategic goals for implementation


    ABOUT YOU
    • Bachelor's Degree required (prefer Chemical or Mechanical Engineering)
    • 5 years related experience in Process Safety in a chemical/food manufacturing environment
    • Proven written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to effectively interact with site management and field operations personnel
    • Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
    • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, team building and influencing skills
    • Ability to research, analyze, interpret and implement EHS/PSM regulations, standards, and best practices
    • Experience in HSE management systems and auditing
    • Experience in root cause investigation techniques
