    SUMMARY

    The Development Officer, Corporate Relations is responsible for stewarding and enhancing Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s relationships with corporations and organizations. This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of donors, growing existing relationships, and identifying new prospects. This position will work closely with the Corporate Relations Sr. Manager and be expected to collaborate with that role as well as the Institutional Relations team. The Corporate Relations Development Officer will also help to support the annual Harvest for Hunger campaign, which includes internal coordination and collaboration with other participating food bank partners.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

    • Manage a portfolio of corporate and organizational donors that contribute from $2,500 to $100,000 annually

    • Work with the Sr. Manager of Corporate Relations to identify opportunities to increase and diversify giving across a portfolio of donors.

    • Support Development Specialist, Corporate Relations’ CRM efforts on the Food Bank’s behalf, managing a portfolio of key CRM relationships as needed

    • Lead efforts associated with Check Out Hunger (COH), part of the annual Harvest for Hunger campaign, in partnership with the Sr. Manager of Corporate Relations and in collaboration with development shared service function. Responsibilities include:

      • Manage the COH promotion, including packing and distribution of materials to all stores and food bank partners.

      • Coordinate with store leadership and chain contacts throughout the campaign, set up meetings and develop agendas with the grocery store partners, and execute with the internal Harvest for Hunger team and other food bank partners.

      • Execute on recognition and cultivation activities, and work with store contacts to create and implement new fundraising strategies.

      • Manage the customer service arm of the campaign, coordinating the work of internal staff and volunteers on all COH-related activities.

      • Provide COH-related information for External Affairs committee meetings in an effort to encourage their participation in the Harvest for Hunger campaign.

      • Manage COH material packaging and logistics with all participation retailers.

    • Recruit new businesses and organizations to host food and funds drives through networking, presentations and other community engagement.

    • Collaborate with the Development Specialist, Corporate Relations to support cultivation and stewardship of corporate food and funds drives; develop and manage a dedicated portfolio of key F&F relationships

    • Provide top quality customer service to all corporate partners, responding to written and verbal inquiries and concerns in a timely manner (24 hour rule).

    • Cultivate and steward donors by attending outside events, providing presentations to groups, or hosting tours at the GCFB; help ensure proper recognition through social platforms, ads and other appropriate media through partnership and collaboration with the Communications team

    • Collaborate with the Volunteer Experience team on opportunities to engage partners in volunteerism and philanthropy opportunities.

    • Collaborate with the Sr. Manager of Corporate Relations on revenue and expense budgets and forecasts on a monthly basis, while taking activing ownership of the position’s portfolio.

    • Collaborate with the Corporate Relations team to recruit sponsors and in-kind donations (i.e. auction items) for fundraising events, and help ensure accurate tracking in Raiser’s Edge

    • Support the Special Events Manager and Development team with other initiatives and projects – including but not limited to fundraising events, volunteer opportunities and community engagements

    • Partner with Communications team to develop content for campaign materials, social media posts, solicitation letters, campaign newsletters, website, presentations, etc.

    • Maintain required job knowledge and skills and core professional competencies.

    • Attend and participate in required educational programs and available professional development opportunities.

    • Attend and participate in all staff meetings.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university. Two to three years development experience, volunteer management, and/or event planning in nonprofit setting required (or a combination of this experience). Willingness to work beyond normal working hours if necessary, including evenings and weekends. Excellent writing and analytical skills, deadline orientation and attention to detail. Proficient computer skills, including experience in proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook, Excel spreadsheets, desktop publishing; experience with Raiser’s Edge fundraising software and Luminate Online preferred. Knowledge of and experience in event planning. Strong organization skills with ability to work on multiple tasks at the same time. Ability to work well in a team atmosphere; ability to work independently, as a team player and with a diverse group of people. Must be willing and able to travel for the organization with short notice. Valid Ohio driver’s license and access to a car for appointments, occasional picks up, events, etc. Willingness to work beyond normal working hours, when necessary.

    Physical Requirements and Environment

    The physical requirements for this position include: Ability to frequently remain in a stationary position. Ability to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. frequently. Ability to operate a computer or other office productivity machinery constantly. Occasional ability to ascend/descend stairs to access work spaces. Occasional ability to position or move body to access filing cabinets or other work equipment. Ability to constantly exchange accurate information and communicate in person or via telephone with clients, partners, donors, coworkers and other members of the community. Must be able to constantly view a computer screen. Ability to move office equipment/supplies occasionally. Ability to lift 10-25 lbs on a regular basis. Travel is frequently required for this position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position is a hybrid role.

    Salary Range: $55,500 - 64,750
