    Humana's Corporate Strategy team is a high-performing organization that works closely with Humana's senior leaders to help chart the course for the company's future. In Strategy, you will identify and analyze exciting new growth opportunities and work with business leaders to prioritize strategic investments and execute strategic transformation. “Strategy Operations” is one of three teams within the Strategy organization, which also includes the Corporate Development and Strategy Planning functions. The Strategy Operations team provides consulting services to Humana’s lines of business on a project basis. As a leader of this team, you will help senior executives advance and operationalize their strategies and solve complex business problems.

    As Director, Corporate Strategy, you will provide strategic guidance and thought leadership to the company's most senior leaders through engagement on a broad array of business issues and improvement opportunities. In this role, you will lead a team of 3-5 associates to deliver on cross-functional strategy projects related to enterprise growth priorities, provide strategic support for large-scale transformation programs and external partnership opportunities, and present progress and recommendations to Humana’s senior leadership.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Deliver on a wide range of strategic activities, including optimization/efficiency assessments, large-scale transformations and strategy execution
    • Manage cross-functional projects, working with leaders throughout the company to execute complex, high-priority strategic initiatives
    • Lead strategic problem-solving efforts by helping senior leaders define key issues, develop hypotheses and design recommendations/solutions
    • Develop actionable insights to equip senior leaders with the right data to make informed strategic decisions
    • Develop and refine key team operating systems and coach individual team members

    The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader who has worked in strategy development and/or process improvement at a top tier strategy consulting firm or in a large corporation.  He/she will have a demonstrated ability to influence peers and business leaders. This person must be comfortable with ambiguity and able to work collaboratively with key leaders to shape the priorities and agenda for the Corporate Strategy team.

    He/she also will be effective at multi-tasking and possess keen change management skills.  Additional skills and competencies include:

    Required Qualifications:

    • BA/BS, MBA or other relevant degrees
    • 4 years post MBA consulting or corporate strategy experience
    • Strong business acumen with proven ability to apply foundational strategy principles to a variety of business problems
    • Proven experience with strategic prioritization, enterprise transformation and process improvement
    • Proven experience working directly with and interacting with executive leaders internally and externally
    • Passion for people development and demonstrated leadership success, including direct or indirect team leadership
    • Ability to identify, structure and solve business and/or operational problems
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication and presentation skills. 

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Leadership experience at top-tier strategy consulting firm or Fortune 500 corporate strategy team
    • Six Sigma certification at Green Belt level at least
    • Experience working in the healthcare industry, preferably payer or provider segments

    • Louisville, KY or Washington, DC
    • The Strategy Operations team follows a hybrid model, working together in the office 2-3 days per week.

    Pay Range

    The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


     

    $181,200 - $249,300 per year


     

    This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
