    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Corporate Relations Manager to join our team. The Corporate Relations Manager will play a pivotal role in cultivating and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and tech companies, driving new business development initiatives, and overseeing the computer science externship program. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for connecting academia with the tech industry.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Corporate Partnership Development:

    • Identify and establish strategic partnerships with corporations to support the goals and initiatives of the career services group and institution.
    • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders across a broad range of industries to expand the institution's network and visibility.
    • Collaborate with academic departments to align partnership opportunities with curriculum needs and student interests.
    • Negotiate partnership agreements, sponsorship deals, and other mutually beneficial arrangements.

    New Business Development:

    • Research and identify new business opportunities within target industries, including but not limited to externships, research collaborations, and sponsored projects.
    • Develop and implement strategies to engage prospective corporate partners and convert leads into long-term relationships, with a primary focus on enlisting them in our Enterprise Partnership Program, that is mutually beneficial for the students and our Industry Partners.
    • Create compelling proposals and presentations to showcase the students capabilities and value proposition to potential partners.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that new business opportunities align with the institution's strategic priorities and objectives.

    Computer Science Externship Program Management:

    • Oversee the computer science externship program, including new business development, student placement, and ongoing support for students and participating companies.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with partner organizations to ensure a win-win experience for students and industry partners.
    • Collaborate with faculty advisors to integrate externship experiences into the academic curriculum and assess student learning outcomes.

    Networking and Outreach:

    • Represent the institution at industry conferences, networking events, and career fairs to promote partnerships and recruit potential corporate partners.
    • Serve as a liaison between the institution and external stakeholders, including industry associations, government agencies, and community organizations.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience required.
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate relations, business development, or related roles, preferably in higher education, staffing or technology sectors.
    • Proven track record of successfully developing and managing corporate partnerships, sponsorships, or similar initiatives.
    • Strong networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
    • Excellent communication skills, including writing, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Knowledge of computer science, information technology, or related fields is desired.
    • Familiarity with externship, internship, or enterprise programs and experiential learning practices in higher education is a plus.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) preferred.
