Overview
The Director of Change Communications will play a lead role in helping Burlington execute impactful change initiatives across our growing organization. This is a unique hands-on role that will manage change communications from beginning to end - from initial stakeholder analysis to determining the effectiveness of a completed plan, and everything in between. In this new role, you will work cross functionally to drive change success by dissecting change initiatives and creating innovative and effective change communication plans for our corporate, DC, or stores environments. You will work with subject matter experts inside and outside the organization to identify the planned impacts of change on different personas and then craft communications to guide each segment through the process. You will also be astutely aware of unintended impacts of change and pivot to triage situations accordingly.
You already have a change communications portfolio illustrating how you have leveraged different channels and approaches as part of your communications planning, including but not limited to text, video, digital, cascades, focus groups, change networks, large and small-scale meetings, blogs, animation, Town Halls, and more. You are a self-starter and independent worker who will hit the ground running, learning to navigate our organization, building strong relationships, and diving headfirst into our change initiatives. You are an exceptional writer/editor who will enthusiastically and quickly create web content, leadership messages, talking points, memos, cascades, scripts, FAQs, and storyboards for video (did we mention you’ll have access to our in-house studio and multimedia team to execute your vision?) You are very organized and detail oriented. Your editorial calendar will be well-managed and your plans shareable up to the top of our organization. You have excellent presentation skills and leadership presence, you can interact with every level of the business from c-suite to front line associate, and you have experience in the fine art of influencing without authority.

Primary responsibilities to include:
Developing and implementing change and change communications plans to support initiatives across the business and conducting assessments to measure plan effectiveness.
Managing a master change comms calendars tracking the status and progress of multiple change initiatives across the company.
Providing content support for other elements of the internal communications team, as warranted.
Our ideal candidate will have:
7-10 years of internal communications or change communications experience
Advanced degree in communication, project management, or change – or commiserate experience
Experience or certification with change management principles
Experience supporting largescale change communications projects in complex organizations.
Ability to identify and respond to adoption challenges and issues surrounding change initiatives
Outstanding communication skills that demonstrate innovation, creativity, and results driven approach
Outgoing and comfortable proactively reaching out to and working with extensive network of professionals of various roles and levels
Experience writing scripts/guides/storyboards/emails/portal content/ presentations/etc.
Collaborative spirit and able to work well under pressure and against changing priorities
