Term of Employment: 41 week Reports to: Building Principal ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Manage activity fund accounting and budget procedures at the school building. 2. Manage computer software programs required for daily attendance and attendance reports. 3. Collect data, maintain records, and prepare reports for the school. 4. Assist in student registration and transfer. 5. Process, manage and account for school lunch/milk funds. 6. Serve as secretary to the building principal and assist in office administration. 7. Serve as a primary public relations representative. 8. Effectively perform all Infinite Campus processes and functions. 9. Manage building keys and key card system. 10. Screen callers, make appointments, and route incoming calls. 11. Type correspondence, records, office forms, reports, lists, instructional materials, etc. 12. Provide information on school policies and regulations of varying complexity. 13. Operate a variety of office machines and supervise use by others. 14. Aid students who are sick or injured in the absence of a school nurse. 15. Administer medications and treatment in accordance with school district policy. 16. Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information at all times. 17. Compose letters and memoranda from general instructions. 18. Establish and maintain computer files. 19. Assist in maintaining building security through operation of door access system. 20. Manage school website. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Participate in school programs, relevant meetings and activities. 2. Participate in shared-decision making and continuous improvement work groups. 3. Perform any other duties as assigned. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS This is a high paced office environment with standard office equipment and routine tasks. Must be able to operate a computer terminal and telephone on a daily basis (requires repetitive use of hands and arms).
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Ability to key accurately at a rate of 65 wpm on keyboard preferred. 2. High school diploma. 3. Minimum of two years successful office or secretarial experience. 4. Demonstrated proficiency in communication (speaking, listening, and writing), language, and mathematical skills. 5. Ability to interact effectively with students, parents, staff and others encountered on the job. 6. Ability to staff the position during all hours required within the business day. 7. Computer knowledge and skill in word processing, database, spreadsheet programs, etc.; and ability to adapt to word processing systems in use. 8. Ability to maintain accurate and complete records and prepare clear and detailed reports. 9. Ability to make appropriate level decisions in absence of principal. 10. Skyward, Infinite Campus and Google Drive/sites/Forms experience preferred. 11. Such other qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
