Correctional Officer enforces rules and regulations in a prison, jail or other holding facility. Presides over prisoners awaiting trial or those who have been convicted of a crime. Being a Correctional Officer oversees prisoner conduct and safety. Supervises prisoners during meals, recreation, work and other daily activities. Additionally, Correctional Officer documents violations and takes appropriate disciplinary actions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Correctional Officer possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Job Title: Full-Time and Per-Diem Correctional Officers
Location: Crawford County Correctional Facility, 2100 Independence Drive Saegertown, PA 16433
Classification: Full-Time (40 hours per week) and Per-Diem (as needed)
Work Hours: 7:00AM – 3:00PM, 3:00 PM -11:00 PM, and 11:00PM- 7:00AM
Essential Duties: We are seeking hard-working correctional officers to oversee and monitor inmates at our Correctional Facility. You will be responsible for enforcing our facility’s rules and regulations. All necessary training provided.
Qualifications: Must be 21 years old, High School diploma or G.E.D, Clean NCIC background check, a clean drug test, and be required to have a Valid driver’s License.
Pay:
Per-Diem- $15.00
Full-Time- $18.11, pay increase after 1 year of service per union contract.
Benefits: Excellent benefit package for Full-Time.
The full-time position qualifies under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program for student loans.
