Correctional Officer, Sr. enforces rules and regulations in a prison, jail or other holding facility. Presides over prisoners awaiting trial or those who have been convicted of a crime. Being a Correctional Officer, Sr. oversees prisoner conduct and safety. Supervises prisoners during meals, recreation, work and other daily activities. Additionally, Correctional Officer, Sr. documents violations and takes appropriate disciplinary actions. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Firearms Certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Correctional Officer, Sr. works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     As a Correctional Officer, you will:

    - Benefit from evening and overnight shift differentials, receiving an additional $2.00 per hour.

    - Observe and report any criminal or suspicious activity, ensuring the safety and security of both the staff and the offender population.

    - Enforce facility rules and regulations to maintain order and discipline.

    - Conduct routine searches for contraband, helping to maintain a drug-free and safe environment.

    - Monitor, evaluate, and supervise offenders in an assigned area, guiding them in rehabilitative activities.

    - Work closely with an interdisciplinary team including case managers, healthcare professionals, probation and parole officers, and other staff.
