Facility name: North Central Correctional Complex

Location: 670 Marion-Williamsport Rd E, Marion, OH 43302

Starting pay: $20.32/hr; $1.00/hr night shift differential; Paid bi-weekly

Bonus: $3,000 retention bonus (3 increments over 12 months)

Work schedule: Full time; 12 hours (day & night); 3 days one week/4 days; Every other weekend off (excluding overtime)

Position summary: Correctional officers are responsible for the custody, care and discipline of offenders as well as maintaining order and discipline among inmates. If assigned to the transportation department, one is responsible for the transporting of offenders to and from the facility in accordance with established procedures.

Essential functions:

• Search for contraband and provide security
• Count, feed and supervise offenders in housing, work and other areas, which includes climbing stairs.
• Provide custody and security of offenders including observation of offenders, which includes long periods of sitting and standing.
• Perform security functions including searches by squatting and bending to perform such functions.
• Transfer and transport offenders by walking or riding in vehicles.
• Restrain and secure assaultive offenders as needed.

Education and experience requirements:

• No previous experience is required! Paid training is provided.
• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent or GED.
• A valid driver license in the state of Ohio with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
• Must currently be a U.S. citizen by either birth or naturalization.
