COST ACCOUNTANTMAC LTT is a leading custom tank trailer manufacturer located in Kent, OH. We are leaders in innovation within our industry and we are looking for a Cost Accountant to join the Accounting Team.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Track labor, raw materials and overhead costs; determination of product costs, cost of goods sold and overhead allocations; maintenance of related key performance metrics.
- Evaluate budget versus actual labor, material & overhead costs.
- Inventory reconciliation, research, and analysis of variances.
- Create and maintain all Standard Costs within ERP system.
- Provide data query and financial reporting support through application of knowledge and spreadsheet database and query tools.
- Report on margins by product line and plant.
- Identify and analyze obsolete inventory.
- Reconciliation of raw materials, work in process & finished goods accounts at month end.
- GL account analysis & reconciliation.
- Assist in creating journal entries for month-end close.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE and SKILLS- 2 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or comparable experience.
- Analytical mindset and high personal commitment to quality and accuracy of work.
- Strong computer skills, including MRP/ERP and advanced Excel skills.
- Thorough understanding of inventory management, costing, overhead allocation methods and methods of data capture to accomplish these tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong team player and business partner.
