Qualifications

• 3 - 6 years of experience working as an accountant.
• Industry experience in banking or financial services.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly closings by preparing appropriate accruals and general ledger entries and preparing financial statements. Review statements for material misstatements.
• Manage assigned accruals and pre-paids, mortgage servicing assets and loan swaps, and prepare journal entries with supporting documentation. Prepare reconciliations and account analysis for selected accounts on a monthly basis.
• Assists the ALM Manager with the quarterly reporting of the Bank’s asset/liability interest rate risk reporting process, including all aspects of “data capture” and other model inputs, update assumptions as per observed trends in the balance sheet and market positioning.
• Responsible for the accounting of securities activity including posting of payments, sales, purchases, calls and monthly accruals utilizing the Prologue Investment software and preparing all associated spreadsheets, including ALCO reports.
• Serve as back-up for processing daily download, creating sub-ledger balancing and month-end reports from Prologue General ledger.
• Set up new and update GL accounts.
• Assist in the cash management function relative to correspondent accounts, investing overnight funds and short-term borrowings.
