Receives RFQs from existing and potential customers via e-mail, portals, fax, telephone, etc.
Maintains customer records using automated systems including Salesforce and IQMS
Identifies prospective customers through business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and/or attending trade shows and conferences
Develops sales estimates, including the collection of all actual and estimated costs for a sales opportunity
Acts as the first customer interface for all commercial communications
Follows up directly with the customer during the entire sales cycle
Makes recommendations on pricing and margins based upon knowledge of the potential sales account
Develops relationships with customers to promote PMT, and leverages that relationship to aid in award wins
Prepares Cost Breakdown sheets in customer-requested format
Logs RFQs, updates Sales Opportunity reports and maintains Key Performance Indicators
Conducts feasibility reviews with engineering, production and quality departments to ensure quoting parameters, raw materials and customer requirements are met
Requests raw material quotes from suppliers and meets with suppliers to review quotes
Prepares electronic bids via customer portals
Schedules and coordinates meetings with existing/potential customers
Assists Customer Service and Accounting departments with pricing discrepancies
Reviews initial Purchase Orders with Customer Service to ensure accuracy of pricing and terms
