As our client continues to expand their operations, we are seeking a skilled Cost Accountant to join our client's team on a temporary basis for a duration of 3-6 months. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our financial management processes and support our ongoing success.Job Description:We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Accountant to assist our client with various financial responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, financial reporting, and account reconciliation within a manufacturing environment. This temporary role will involve collaborating closely with internal teams to ensure accurate financial data and support month-end close processes.Key Responsibilities:Perform cost accounting activities, including analyzing production costs, identifying variances, and recommending cost-saving initiatives.Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP guidelines.Conduct account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data and resolve discrepancies.Assist with month-end close procedures, including journal entries, accruals, and financial statement preparation.Develop and implement internal audit plans to evaluate financial processes and controls.Assist with cost allocation processes to ensure proper distribution of expenses across departments or products.Utilize inventory systems to track and manage inventory levels, reconciling physical counts with system records.Apply knowledge of debits and credits to accurately record financial transactions.Support standard cost accounting practices, analyzing standard versus actual costs and investigating any discrepancies.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting or related financial role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of GAAP guidelines and financial reporting requirements.Proficiency in using inventory management systems to track and analyze inventory data.Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information.Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and precision.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with cross-functional teams.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Duration:This is a temporary position with an expected duration of 3-6 months, with the possibility of extension based on business needs and performance.For immediate consideration please contact: Kelly Fellows 865-370-2219
