Cost Accountant Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of manufacturing accounting, physical inventory audit, and month-end close. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for the analysis and reporting of costs associated with the production and sale of goods. The candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, and have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The Cost Accountant will be expected to work well independently and in a team setting.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze costs associated with the production and sale of goods.
• Maintain accurate records of costs and inventory levels.
• Perform physical inventory audit.
• Assist with month-end closing process.
• Prepare and analyze cost reports.
• Develop and implement cost control systems.
• Analyze variances between standard costs and actual costs.
• Document processes and procedures related to cost accounting.
• Provide cost estimates for new products.
• Assist with the preparation of the annual budget.
• Identify cost saving opportunities.
• Assist with external audits.
• Monitor compliance with internal controls.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• 2 years of experience in cost accounting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
