We are searching for a Project Accountant to join the ESCO Technologies team. This individual is responsible for clear, detailed recorded communication connecting all parties internal and external to result in an accurate assessment of pre-billing information monthly per project.

Job Responsibilities:
Work with Accounting and Operations team for accurately assess the consumption of items, and the amount of labor used, and maintain the Percentage of Completion Workbook. Coordinate with all departments, suppliers, and contractors, to monitor operating costs. Clear, accurate transmittal of knowledge/data between cross-functional teams, and management.
Accounting:
- Payroll journal entries.
- Review of G/L accounts and PNL biweekly/monthly for the correctness and missing entries.
- Assessment of consumption of items, and other costs incurred for projects. (percentage of completion – revenue)
- Assessment of labor used for projects. (percentage of completion - revenue)
- Review and understand budget material and labor usage to date vs. remaining over the project adjusting as needed. Working with the team and assessing the balance to consume/purchase and balance of labor to complete.
- Maintaining internal project workbooks.
- General Ledger entries for classes as needed.
- Tie out balance sheets and accounts at end of month after classes.
- Sales Order confirmations for customers.
- Sales and financial reporting.
- Monthly presentation to the Board of Directors.
Schedule Management:
Compilation and maintenance of accounting project workbook(s). Regular communication with all departments to ensure posting and deadlines are met to furnish a percentage of completion valuation. Management of own workload to achieve overall schedule. Schedule management is a key part of the role, especially month end closing, and revenue recognition. Strict adherence to monthly Accounting deadlines and reporting.
Budgets: Detailed live monitoring, tracking & reporting to adhere to budgets and compliance through evaluation of operating costs as a percentage to sales. Analyze costs to budget—working with inventory personnel and purchasing department. Diligence in keeping costs down.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or a similar discipline.
Experience in Project Accounting of systems including:
- Budget tracking and adherence.
- Proficiency in general ledger entries.
- Financial forecasting.
- Understanding of work-in-progress accounts and percentage of completion revenue.
- In-depth knowledge of best practices in accounting.
- Proficient in Excel.
- High-quality interpersonal communication skills with tact, diplomacy & professionalism.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and industry guidelines & regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written ability in English.
