SUMMARY:

The Accounting Manager will be actively involved within the accounting department of DMA Industries, LLC as the company experiences continued growth. The position oversees the day-to-day operations of the accounting department and ensuring accurate financial reporting. You will play a key role in maintaining internal controls, supervising staff, and collaborating with various departments to achieve financial goals.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Working independently from, and alongside of experienced members within the Finance team, The Accounting Manager will be responsible to: 

? Month-End Closing:

• Supervise and participate in the month-end closing process, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
• Prepare and/or review complex journal entries, including accruals, adjustments, and account reconciliations.
• Analyze financial results and prepare variance reports for management review.

? Team Management:

• Supervise the Accounts Receivable Clerk, Accounts Payable Clerk, and Cost Accountant.
• Provide training, guidance, and regular feedback to support their accuracy and efficiency.

? Financial Reporting:

• Collaborate with the Controller to prepare financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
• Assist with the generation of reports for external auditors and banks.

? Inventory Management:

• Work closely with the Cost Accountant to ensure accurate inventory tracking, valuation, and cost reporting.
• Review inventory reserves and analyze inventory obsolescence provisions.

? Process Improvement:

• Analyze current accounting processes and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement process improvements, working with the team and the Controller.

? Stay up-to-date on accounting regulations and best practices.

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

? Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

? 5 years of experience in a managerial accounting role, preferably in a wholesale, distribution or manufacturing environment.

? Proven experience in supervising and training accounting staff.

? Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and internal controls.

? Proficient in accounting software, especially NetSuite, and MS Office Suite.

? Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

? Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
