Cost Accounting Supervisor oversees the preparation and analysis of cost reports and costing audits. Identifies and examines costs that are inconsistent with projected values. Being a Cost Accounting Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Responsible for general ledger reconciliations, accounting transaction audit and accuracy, assists with month end close responsibilities. Insures companies internal control remain in place while protecting the organization’s value by keeping all information confidential. Assists with physical inventory. Maintains certain insurance policies, claim processing and insurance compliance over suppliers and customers. Works directly for the Controller and Supports the CFO.
