Job Summary

As an integral part of the corporate accounting department, the Accounting Supervisor will help ensure that TA’s corporate financial accounting processes and procedures comply with GAAP. Duties will involve a variety of corporate accounting functions related to the monthly closing process, compliance with internal controls over financial reporting, and analysis of financial results and balances to assist management in improving month-end close timing, operations, and profitability. With a growing business and continued focus on the need for the corporate accounting department to keep pace with rapidly changing business processes and regulatory environment, TA is searching for an individual who will continue to apply the skills learned in their previous experience and assist management with enhancing daily operations.

The ideal individual is a self-starter with a solid base of knowledge and experience with technical accounting matters and internal control processes who can demonstrate the ability to grow professionally, has a strong work ethic and is eager to learn. The Accounting Supervisor will be a detail-oriented problem solver and team player and will have strong communication skills. Lastly, the supervisor will be able to not only lead others but perform their tasks at a high level with minimal guidance.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures, including with respect to internal controls over financial reporting
• Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and revenue and expense analysis, and perform other assigned month-end closing duties
• Prepare journal entries, including monthly accruals, site allocations, et cetera
• Act as process owner for assigned business processes
• Work closely with operations department personnel to properly account for and analyze significant activities and transactions related to sales, costs, operating expenses, inventories, receivables, and accruals
• Assist in managing the General Accountants and General Accounting Seniors with their day-to-day responsibilities
• Provide accounting detail and assistance to internal/external auditors (financial and tax)
• Design/maintain Excel spreadsheets related to various business processes
• Participate as an individual, or on a team basis, on special projects of various lengths and subject matter while fulfilling regular duties
• Perform ad hoc analysis as needed
• Prepare intercompany or joint venture financial statements as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Masters a plus
• CPA or CMA strongly preferred
• Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience, preferably audit related public accounting experience
• Effective oral and written communications skills.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Familiarity with integrated financial information systems, SAP and Hyperion are a plus
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• The ideal candidate will have excellent time management, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
