Summary

As the Cost Analyst on our Corporate Finance Team at our corporate office in Charlotte, MI, you will play a crucial role with an emphasis on margin analysis & cost accounting. Initially, your primary responsibility will be to perform cost accounting activities and support operations in the launch of new products and analysis of operational performance. 

It's worth noting that this role offers a hybrid schedule of four days on-site and one day remote. 

You will be expected to be detailed oriented, knowledgeable on statistics, have strong problem-solving skills, and work comfortably under pressure. Additionally, you will be expected to showcase your presentation and report-writing skills.

What You Will Be Doing

• Developing and maintaining the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization
• Supporting operations in footprint optimization activities by providing critical analysis and cost impact
• Analyzing costs and recommending cost savings
• Preparing and completing internal cost audits
• Complying with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements
• Analyzing the data collected and logging a detailed record of the results
• Analyzing any changes in goods or services provided to determine their effect on the cost
• Analyzing manufacturing costs, preparing regular reports, and comparing standard costs to actual production costs
• Making estimates of new and proposed product costs
• Providing management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services
• Assisting in audits and general ledger preparation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field 
• 3 years of Cost Accounting experience
• 5 years of accounting-related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Sound understanding of accounting principles
• Solid cost systems background
