Cost Engineer - Construction jobs in Lincoln, NE

When it comes to precision metal machining, any successful team includes a special group of people who know what it takes to efficiently manufacture a part. These are the people who look at a print and know immediately how to produce the part cost-effectively. They are the people who thrive on the challenge of finding economical solutions to each project thrown their way. We are seeking someone with this skillset to join our team at either our Post Falls, ID location, our Hebron, NE location or remotely.

This candidate will be a go-to person for all project estimating and will work hand-in-hand on business development projects. You’ll read prints, practice proactive problem solving, and develop an extensive knowledge of vendor capabilities. You will need a well-rounded machining skillset and keen attention to detail in order to guide the process of turning a print into a part.

Qualifications:

• 2 Year Associate Degree and ten years in manufacturing-related field preferred.
• Read and interpret complex part and assembly drawing/schematics.
• CAD experience is required; CAM experience is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes and manufacturing-related engineering concepts.
• Highly organized
• Knowledge and proficiency of office software applications.
• Excellent customer management skills as well as interpersonal skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively remotely or in the field.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description:

• Your primary job functions will include but are not limited to preparing RFQ and Cost Estimates per customer requirements.
• Help develop plans and schedules for new contracts and aid in problem resolution.
• Communicate with all contract stakeholders and maintain relationships with customers and internal sales and production teams.
• Attend and initiate project meetings, internal and external, as required.
