    A hands-on construction site superintendent will complete on-site construction work across the United States, inclusive of overseeing all phases of construction projects, supervising on-site employees and subcontractors, tracking and recording field changes, ensuring job-site safety, ensuring project requirements and schedules are met, and maintaining quality and control of work. This role demands active participation in hands-on tasks while supervising teams and ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.

    Location: Orlando, FL; Nationwide project locations, requiring travel within the continental U.S.

    Shift/Work Hours: Varies: M-F 7:00am – 3:30pm, M-Th 7:00am – 5:30pm, or T-F 7:00am – 5:30pm

    Employment Type: Direct hire; non-exempt


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Direct, supervise, and work alongside teams of employees and subcontractors (up to 20 people on a team), ensuring adherence to quality, aesthetic, and safety standards.
    2. Enforce safety requirements and ensure compliance with all federal, state, client and company safety policies. Conduct training, mentoring and disciplinary action as needed.    
    3. Identify and mitigate risk on project sites; implement proactive solutions to safety hazards; and act as a first responder for all near misses, incidents, and injuries. Implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. 
    4. Facilitate professionalism of crew and work environment. Lead by example, mentor, coach and develop employees inclusive of addressing disciplinary issues.
    5. Adhere to schedule and project plan for completion of assigned project(s).
    6. Coordinate and assign the work activities of tradespeople, professionals, and laborers, while maintaining communication with project manager, immediate supervisor, general contractors, sub-contractors, and other stakeholders.
    7. Regularly inspect work for quality, safety and timeliness; prepare and provide progress and jobsite reports.
    8. Monitor budget throughout the project by effective people, time, and resource management, and communicate variances as they occur.
    9. Review and approve timecards and requests for time off.
    10. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
    11. Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

    • Minimum of two years of high school education, complemented by 6-12 months of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Possession of, or ability to obtain, OSHA 30 certification. Training provided if necessary.
    • Must hold a valid driver’s license and a current DOT medical card (assistance provided for obtaining the DOT physical and card, if needed), and maintain a satisfactory driving history.
    • Capable of reading, understanding, and implementing blueprints, drawings, and plans.
    • In-depth understanding of quality building practices.
    • Demonstrated expertise in reinforced concrete, site excavation and grading, concrete forming, closed PVC plumbing systems, welding, structural steel, and light equipment operation.
    • Experience in concrete pumping and shotcrete, waterproofing, scaffold erection, and artistic skill sets are desirable.

    Physical Demands

    • Lift 70 lbs. floor to waist; lift 90 lbs. waist to chest; lift 25 lbs. chest to overhead; carry 50 lbs. over a distance of 50 ft.; push a 100 lbs. wheeled cart over a distance of 100 ft.; and drag 50 lbs. over a distance of 100 ft.


    Work Environment

    • Exposed to typical noises and smells associated with a construction environment, such as exposure to fumes or airborne particles and production machinery. Noise level is moderate to loud.
