Being a Cost Engineer - Construction performs data analysis to identify project trends and budget deviations and highlight cost underruns and overruns. Has extensive technical knowledge of processes and materials specific to the type of project. Additionally, Cost Engineer - Construction experienced with the cost-estimating methods best suited to the nature of the project. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Cost Engineer - Construction work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Our Opportunity
North American Lighting (NAL) is looking for a Cost Accountant- II to join our Corporate Headquarters based in Paris, IL. This candidate will maintain the company’s standard costing system while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and generally accepted accounting principles. We will provide relocation assistance to anyone outside of the Central/Southern Illinois area.
Your Priorities
While working within the fast paced, automotive environment, you will run and review daily standard cost activity report for cost of production for daily posting
Run monthly costing for all NAL part numbers, analyze results, and make adjustments as needed
Prepare, analyze, and post monthly cost of production, overhead, inventory, and scrap journal entries
Audit Bill of Material and Routings in the accounting system (PLEX), reports errors to appropriate personnel, and follow-up to ensure that changes are made
Evaluate and monitor a variety of reports and queries performed as secondary check for accuracy and reasonableness in relation to any production transactions
Your Background
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or a related discipline plus 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in an accounting position
Experience in a manufacturing cost accounting position is preferred
