    Role Description

    Our client is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Job Cost Accountant to join their team in the Redmond office. In this role, your primary focus will be monitoring and controlling the financial aspects of various projects undertaken by the company. This role involves working closely with project managers, procurement, and finance teams to track project costs, ensure adherence to budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and providing timely and accurate financial reports. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. While this position offers opportunities for growth, the initial phase (approximately 6 months or longer) will involve consistent engagement in tasks such as job creation, change order processing, cash receipt posting, and accounts payable invoice management for numerous projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Monitor and record project-related expenses, ensuring all costs are accurately allocated to specific projects and relevant accounts.
    • Collaborate with Project Managers to develop and maintain project budgets, comparing actual costs against budgeted amounts, and identifying any variances.
    • Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, related to ongoing projects.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities, recommend improvements, and support efforts to control project expenditures effectively.
    • Assist in preparing cost estimates for new projects, considering various cost components, resource allocation, and market conditions.
    • Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciling project-related accounts and generating financial statements.
    • Perform and manage day to day accounting including account reconciliations, A/P, A/R, billings, audit requests and financial statement preparation.
    • Partner with Project Managers regarding project budgets, ETC's, EAC's, Earned Value, billings and job costing, as well as preparation of AIA's and WIP reports.
    • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of project documentation, including job setup and change orders.
    • Process cash receipts accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper allocation to respective projects.
    • Provide administrative support as needed to ensure project deliverables are met.

    Qualifications

    • 3 years of experience in accounting.
    • 2 years of experience in job cost accounting.
    • Construction, restoration, or similar industry experience preferred.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to establish timelines and budgets.
    • Strong computer skills.
    • Experience using ERP for cost accounting.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
