Must be willing to work Evenings and Weekends.

Primary Job Functions:

• Engage with customers and build loyal relationships
• Run contractors desk and POS (point of sale) register
• Create and maintain special orders
• Estimate required materials for projects
• Customer Service (help customers find what they need in a professional and courteous manner)
• Train and supervise cashiers on outside building material related items
• Assist outside salesman in various capacities
• Report problems and potential problems to management

Secondary Job Functions:

• Help load merchandise for customers
• Help check in special orders and communicate with special order customer
• Answer telephone regarding quotes, special orders, or delivery directions

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• H.S. Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred
• Professional communication skills
• Retail cashier experience is a plus
• Ability to count change back
• Very good math skills; with the ability to create and analyze quotes and reports
• Knowledge of hardware and building materials
• Ability to operate office machines, computers, and Excel is a plus
• Ability to identify and solve problems
• Ability to work flexible hours; including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Attention to detail, accuracy is key
• Good physical condition for lifting
