Counter Attendant responds and attends to patron requests. Responsible for various attendant duties including making sandwiches and placing food in display cases. Being a Counter Attendant has knowledge of proper food handling procedures and government regulations regarding the food code. May require a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, Counter Attendant typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Counter Attendant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Candidates must:
Principal Accountabilities:
Enter customer orders face-to-face, over the phone, or electronically.
Pulls customer orders and prepares them for pick-up or delivery.
Calls vendors for product pricing and availability.
Places purchase orders with vendors for special order materials.
Follows up with customers and vendors on open orders.
Communicate customer and order issues with salesmen and management.
Communicates with delivery drivers about orders that need to be delivered.
Assists customers in determining product needs.
Research products and repair parts for customers.
Participates in company and vendor product training in person and electronically.
Processes customer returns and communicates with vendors on obtaining return approvals.
Restock, rotate, and face counter inventory shelving.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment, including the counter, workstation, shelving, and isles.
Perform other duties as needed.
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
High School Diploma or its equivalent
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Critical thinker-using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions.
Mathematical reasoning- the ability to choose the correct method or formulas to solve the problem.
Ability to learn Eclipse software.
Must be very detail-oriented and focused on accuracy.
Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines.
Must have strong interpersonal communication skills.
Must maintain a patient and professional attitude while managing a busy workload.
Strong organizational skills are required.
Must be able to determine and prioritize workload.
Working Conditions:
Normal warehouse environment
Exposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
Physical strength to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
