General Statement Of Duties:
Provides technical, administrative, and supervisory work in the operation of a Clerk's Office of the Colorado Judicial Branch.
The First Judicial District is looking for a dynamic and driven leader for its next Clerk of Court in Jefferson County. The Clerk of Court works closely with the Chief Judge, Court Executive, Clerk of Court in Gilpin County and the First Judicial District’s Leadership Team to provide leadership and management of the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office in Golden. The Clerk of Court has a significant role in building and sustaining a respectful, inclusive, and collegial workplace that is aligned with the mission, vision and values of the Colorado Judicial Branch.
The Clerk of Court is responsible for leading an office of 48 staff and supporting 35 judicial officers and their staff. Preferred qualifications include excellent communication and organizational skills, exceptional leadership skills, extensive experience working in the court system, and experience working with a court electronic case filing and management system.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
Has supervisory accountability for other employees, volunteers, or interns. Plans, directs and coordinates activities for a unit. Duties may include scheduling and assigning of work, training in all facets of work, quality control, and decisions impacting the pay, status and tenure of others. Conducts performance appraisals, and provides input into and participates in discipline, dismissal, and hiring processes.
Minimum Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in business, public, or judicial administration; social science; or related field and five years of experience in management, administration, or judicial fields which must have included two years of supervisory experience over two or more employees.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk. The employee frequently is required to stand; sit; reach with hands and arms; and perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. Occasionally handles emergency or crisis situations; frequently subject to interruptions, and multiple calls and inquiries. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
