Court Clerk supports paralegals with various tasks required in the preparation of materials for court cases. Inputs and maintains tracking data for all case materials. Being a Court Clerk obtains requested files and assembles required materials for court proceedings. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Court Clerk typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Court Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.   • SUMMARY
    Under the supervision of the assigned Program Supervisor or Program Manager, provides professional investigative work in order to provide quality and timely information to criminal courts, attorneys and judicial officers, which supports the judicial decision on how best to respond to supervision of a defendant.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Interviews defendants and investigates criminal history information, including but not limited to criminal history, family ties, residence stability, victim information, and employment history by using data systems, contacting personal references, and employment references, etc. to determine authenticity of information. Use of a validated risk assessment tool.
     
    Court preparation and Presentation: Prepare and submit a quality summary report to the court that follows the criteria outlined in policies and procedures. Identify and report risk and need and make appropriate referrals. Interact with law enforcement, counsel, and jail and court personnel as appropriate to make reliable release recommendations

    Attends case staffing’s, in-services, trainings and staff meetings as assigned.

    Performs public speaking duties; represents agency in community or interagency activities.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    Bachelors Degree in Social or Behavioral Science or related field or equivalent experience.

    Two years experience in a human service field or equivalent experience.

    Computer data entry skills.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS
    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, financial reports, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations and legal documents. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, clients, fellow employees, and the general public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
    Ability to apply concepts of basic math and algebra.

    REASONING ABILITY
    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

     
    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
    Must meet certification standards as outlined by the ZeroV as directed by supervisor.

    Must hold or be able to obtain a valid Kentucky Driver's License.
