Court Clerk supports paralegals with various tasks required in the preparation of materials for court cases. Inputs and maintains tracking data for all case materials. Being a Court Clerk obtains requested files and assembles required materials for court proceedings. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Court Clerk typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Court Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Under the direct supervision of the Chief Deputy Clerk Civil Division, a Deputy Clerk Civil Division receives and processes all filings pertaining to civil actions filed in FMC. Deputy Clerks are appointed by the Administrative Judge and serve at his/her pleasure.
NOTICE AT WILL POSITION:
This position is an “” position. The person(s) employed by the Findlay Municipal Court under this job classification serve solely at the pleasure of the Administrative Judge of the Findlay Municipal Court and/or his designee. AT WILL positions can be terminated or modified without cause with no recourse, totally upon the discretion of the Administrative Judge of the Findlay Municipal Court and/or his designee.
This job classification is not exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible to receive overtime pay.
Illustrative examples of work:
1. Receives and processes filings such as new civil complaints, collection actions
and other civil related actions.
2. Accepts and processes monetary payments on matters relating to civil filings
or judgment collections.
3. Responds to telephone and counter inquiries pertaining to general court information and the vast majority of issues related to procedures for civil actions.
4. Files and scans for electronic storage cases as directed.
5. Prepares and submission of appeal cases.
6. And other duties as assigned.

1. Understanding of the Court’s responsibilities, functions, organizational
structure and purpose.

with applicable updates contained within the Court Procedure Manual.
3. Ability to successfully deal with the full spectrum of citizens the Findlay
Municipal Court serves, whether plaintiff, defendant, witness, victim, officer, attorney or general public.
4. Must be able to handle heavy workloads, meet deadlines, and handle stressful
and sensitive situations.
