    Benefits To You
    • We pay 95% to 99% of medical insurance premiums for full-time employees, including mental health coverage.

    Position Highlights
    The
    Jackson County Circuit Court
    is hiring a Remote Child Support Court Clerk (Courtroom Clerk) to assist with WebEx child support hearings conducted at our courthouse in Medford, Oregon.
    In this role, you will support a hearings referee by filing new child support cases, processing documents and case files, digitally recording court proceedings, operating multimedia equipment, docketing, reviewing judgments for accuracy and completeness, and answering processing questions as a subject matter expert. You will perform complex data entry, monitor statutory timelines for cases, and help prepare child support paperwork. Additionally, you will monitor pending cases, prepare and mail notices, make and certify copies, schedule child support cases in the court calendar, route orders and judgments to the hearings referee for signature, and maintain a variety of manuals. You will also scan documents, verify their quality, and upload them into the case management system.
    You will provide direct support to the Remote Child Support Court team and will provide customer service to judges, court staff, attorneys, agencies, and the public in person, over the phone, and in writing. Within established guidelines, you will respond to difficult complaints and requests for information, determine necessary actions to take in complex situations, and direct parties or take appropriate action as needed.
    Part of your time will be spent participating in statewide, OJD-wide, or local committee meetings as an OJD liaison, during which you will recommend improvements to court processes and procedures.
    Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

    Minimum Qualifications

    The qualified candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

    At least three (3) years of responsible experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving the processing of financial, administrative, or legal documents.

    equivalent to three (3) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

    Working Conditions
    • This is a full-time position, and the work schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 per work week.
    • This position works on-site and is ineligible for remote/hybrid work.
    • Occasional overtime work may be required.
    • Occasional local or overnight travel.
    • Frequent phone and in-person contact with people from diverse backgrounds.
    • Frequent phone and in-person contact with people who may be facing challenging life circumstances, highly stressful situations, or trauma. Daily contact with child support litigants.
    • Long periods of sitting or standing.
    • Daily data entry.
    • Regular use of the following equipment: electronic recording equipment, telephone, OJD-assigned computer with multiple monitors, copy machine, fax machine, and scanner.
    • The qualified candidate must start the process of CJIS clearance within the first week of hire.
