Quiznos/Jesters Court Group is currently seeking a friendly and energetic Deli clerk to provide prompt, efficient, professional, and courteous customer service and food preparation, following company policies and procedures. This individual helps maintain a clean, customer-friendly environment inside and outside the deli. The role of the Deli Clerk can be part or full-time and hours include evenings, weekends, and holidays hours.

The core responsibilities associated with this position include, but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities:

• Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service.
• Focus on collaboration and teamwork as a part of the deli; works well with the public.
• Greets customers in a genuine and friendly manner.
• Learns regular customer names and uses them respectfully in greeting.
• Responds to customers’ questions and requests in a timely manner.
• Sincerely thanks customers for their business and choosing us.
• Assists with food preparation, properly prep all needed food ingredients needed.
• Ensures proper handling, sanitation, freshness, and quality of all products.
• Ensures proper assembly and recipes for all food.
• Maintains proper refrigeration and handles product properly as instructed by manager.
• Processes orders with proper quantities, quality, and price.
• Promotes product through suggestive selling.
• Breaks down the department, washes, and sanitizes the assembly area and utensils needed.
• Use the required PPE to perform job duties.
• Ring up customers, on the register and balances cash and inventory transactions.
• Maintain the deli in an impeccable state, clean and appealing to customers.
• Clean in and outside of the store including but not limited to sweeping the parking lot, mopping floors, emptying trash, cleaning restrooms.
• Stock shelves and coolers.
• Adhere to all Jester’s Court, federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Advise the Deli Manager/Shift Leader of any out-of-the-norm situation or policy violations having an adverse effect on store operating processes.
• Immediately report any maintenance problem to Deli Manager.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must be 18 years old.
• Must be able to obtain a Responsible Vendor Card (ATC) within 45 days of employment.
• A high school qualification or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks assigned.
• Ability to work flexible schedules.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• This position may require standing, walking on uneven ground, turning, stooping, /bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, squatting, and/or climbing, equipment operation (register, food processor, wrapper, knives, scales, etc., as needed for the operations of job duties).
