Court Clerk supports paralegals with various tasks required in the preparation of materials for court cases. Inputs and maintains tracking data for all case materials. Being a Court Clerk obtains requested files and assembles required materials for court proceedings. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Court Clerk typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Court Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. The ideal candidate will provide accurate and timely service to customers while managing legal documents such as petitions, motions, appeals, and proposed Orders. Additional responsibilities include timestamping, docketing, and processing civil legal documents, as well as providing administrative support and answering phone calls.

HOURS OF WORK:
Normal work hours are Monday through Friday 8 am- 4:30 pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch (37.5 hours per week full-time position.)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Process incoming Civil and Family Court cases, assist the public at the counter or by telephone and process incoming mail, including accurately entering case information into County Suite case management system, accept filing fees and trust payments, issuing receipts, making change, if required, processing legal documents in accordance with established office procedures.
2. Provide assistance to attorneys and/or their staff and pro se petitioners in person or by telephone and assist them within the parameters of the department’s protocols.
3. Indexing and docketing case information as well as coding data in County Suite, a case management software program.
4. Processing motions and petitions and proposed Orders of Court as well as entering liens, judgments and preparing writs for the Court of Common Pleas of Adams County, Pennsylvania.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
High School Diploma required.
