The New Britain Herald, a daily newspaper in central Connecticut, is looking for a city reporter to join our award-winning team. The successful candidate will have experience at a daily or weekly newspaper in a news reporter role, or similar experience with a college newspaper. This reporter will cover the city of New Britain, our top beat, along with the smaller towns of Berlin and Newington, with a focus on government, schools, live events and more in an accurate, well-reported manner that dives deeper into what's happening.
Requirements for the job include a working knowledge of AP style, good people skills, dependability and to be able to turn in stories on a tight deadline. Must have a valid driver's license and a dependable vehicle. Knowledge of InDesign would be a plus. Ability to speak/write Spanish or Polish is also a plus.
