Court Reporter documents court proceedings by using a stenotype machine. May require completion of a 2-4 year training program at a vocational school. Being a Court Reporter has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Additionally, Court Reporter works under immediate supervision. JOB SUMMARY
Provide assessment, case management, and coordination services under the day-to-day supervision of the Collaborative Court Manager and WDS Director.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of one-year experience working withthe justice-involved population and/or working in coordination with courts, probation/parole.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Understanding of barriers faced by justice-involved participants.
Knowledge of human behavior and signs/symptoms of substance abuse disorders and mental health needs.
Possess clinical skills to effectively engage participants.
Understanding of the administration and use of SUD/biopsychosocial assessments.
Familiarity with Goodwills mission, general Company policies and procedures (this may be learned on-the-job).
Thorough knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in computer technology, including advanced recordkeeping software, state-of-the- art internet job search techniques, and software programs.
EQUIPMENT USED: Typical office equipment; vehicles.
SKILLS/APTITUDES/TEMPERAMENTS:
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Ability to communicate in basic Spanish desirable.
Ability to understand and comply with the protocols and state and federal program requirements related to workforce development and social services programs.
Ability to understand and follow Goodwill Central Coasts Standard Operating Procedures.
Ability to understand and follow Goodwill Central Coasts Code of Ethics.

Ability to organize and utilize time effectively to coordinate client schedules, staffings, and report writing duties.

Ability to drive a vehicle in the transaction of company business. This requires a good driving record and may require the ability to provide evidence of personal vehicle liability insurance.
Ability to adhere to safe work practices as documented in Company policies; ability to report safety hazards/accidents promptly to supervisor or safety committee member.
EMOTIONAL EFFORT:
The job requires moderate emotional effort involving occasional short deadlines requiring little or no overtime and exposure to clients with substance abuse and mental health issues. Work environment is routine with periods of isolated high activity/demand.
