Creative Director provides leadership and direction for all phases of creative development work from concept to completion. Designs and implements policies and standards that reinforce the organization's branding strategy and goals. Being a Creative Director promotes excellence in design thinking and a creative strategy for services, products and programs. Interprets stakeholder requirements to produce effective creative concepts and designs. Additionally, Creative Director recruits and develops a team of designers, copywriters, project managers and vendors. Develops creative briefs and design concepts to meet the business objectives of the organization. Studies current trends and technologies to adopt the most effective tools and techniques across all media. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Creative Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Creative Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • The National Inventors Hall of Fame is seeking an individual with extensive experience leading creative teams. The ability to represent the creative team and the creative work in executive-level meetings, support the creative team's day-to-day needs, and juggle administrative responsibilities associated with team management are equally important. High energy, effective communication, and positivity are essential to success.
    An individual who will welcome and foster an environment of new ideas and teamwork, bring an experienced artistic eye, and the ability to be resourceful is ideal. The creative team has five primary functions:
    • Partner with our Education Department to ideate and design our K-12 Educational programming.
    • Oversee the creative elements of large-scale and small-scale events.
    • Bring our Inductee stories to life through docu-style video.
    • Design exhibits for our museum.
    • Partner with our marketing team to develop omnichannel campaigns for our B2B, B2C, and B2F channels.
    Position Responsibilities:
    • Manage the creative process from concept to completion acting as the creative, corporate visionary.
    • Oversee an internal creative team, as well as outside design agencies and production vendors, coordinating their efforts and ensuring a high-level of quality for all deliverables.
    • Manage the overall brand design, intertwine multiple brands and disseminate across all channels and audiences.
    • Lead strategic brainstorming sessions, develop creative briefs, rationalize creative concepts, and oversee campaign execution.
    • Tell the stories of our Inductees through written and video communication outlets.
    • Collaborate with company executives and stakeholders to translate strategic business goals into compelling brand experiences for consumer, corporate and B2B campaigns.
    • Make presentations and pitch ideas to internal and external customers acting as an ambassador for the brand.
    • Consider each project holistically, best understanding how design solutions will be implemented across all forms of media, devices, and platforms.
    • Promote continual creative improvement and actively contribute to a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability.
    • Give honest and direct input while being open to feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
    • Deliver every idea and assignment with creativity and passion and within deadline.
    • Foster an environment of professional honesty and integrity.
    • Department Management tasks; bonus plans, team meetings, creative budget, team recruitment, training and onboarding, and team structure and evolution.
    • Represent National Inventors Hall of Fame to outside partners, including Hall of Fame Inductees, Government and Corporate Partners.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Strategic thinker, dynamic leader, and results-oriented individual who is comfortable in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to understand and translate advertising/marketing objectives into unique, creative strategies with minimal direction.
    • Ability to create compelling stories about people and a willingness to study and research how they are woven into our programming to make cohesive connections across all brands.
    • Capability to take large amounts of product information and distill it into clear, concise, and creative messaging.
    • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams.
    • Passion for new technologies and emerging trends.
    • Innovative problem-solver and an excellent communicator– written and verbal communication skills are essential to the role, as you will communicate with all levels internally and externally.
    • Fluent in Adobe Suite to be hands-on as needed.
    • Strong presentation skills.
    Credentials and Experience:
    • A minimum of ten (10) years in a creative leadership role.
    • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field.
    • Experience in leading and elevating a team of young professionals while cultivating a positive, enthusiastic environment.
    • Proven track record in facilitating and streamlining the creative brainstorming, proofing, and project management process.
    • Experience with photography, videography, and event production, which includes presenter management, run of the show, scripting, and overseeing events.
    • Experience building a successful brand.
    • Copywriting and creative writing experience is preferred.
    Special Requirements:
    • Ability to travel up to 30%
